ER visit

So after clinic we took her off suppression meds, miralax, and ditropan since it was making her sick. she seemed to really well first couple weeks. Then yesterday it went downhill. She spiked a fever, threw up, and was very lethargic. So after spending 4 1/2 hours in ER it looks like she has another UTI. So we got home about 1:30 am and she slept till I went into her room at noon. haha!
She didn't drink anything all morning and was very cranky and tired so called the ER nurse who wanted her to come back in if she was still the same after nap. But thankfully she woke up in better spirits and drank tons of very dilluted juice and then pedialite. But then of course wouldn't eat much dinner..lol go figure right? After giving her the first dose of antibiotics with dinner she then had fun diarrhea. So now we're just hoping she gets some good rest and will react better to medicine tomorrow. If not..looks like another doc visit. wah wah ;)
Poor thing just can't seem to get over this bump in the road. But thankfully God always has His hand upon her and she has many wonderful believers praying for her daily.
I did talk to the urology nurse practioner about Arwen's bladder problems/concerns. So after she is done with this UTI it looks like she will start Ditropan (unless causes more stomach/bowel issues then will try a similar med) to help her floppy bladder stretch out the way it's supposed to. She has a spasmatic bladder that doesn't stretch and release properly so the ditropan should help that. And she will be on suppression meds (low dose of antibiotics) for 6-12 months to help keep the viscious cycle of UTI's away. As of now no need for her to be cathed. They do think that it is still a possibility down the road. I don't agree with pumping kids full of medicine like this, but it's not something that can be helped without it so I am just praying her bowels can get under control so that these different meds can help her bladder. We are just having a horrible time getting it all under control. It seems like a medicine will help 1 area but then make 2 more do horrible.
We know God is in control and trust Him for guidance.
Lord willing, she will have her ot, pt, and walker evaluation, and will also get her new braces and shoes this week. So that is exciting!
We love and appreciate you all!
